Job summary

Vail Resorts in Truckee, CA seeks Ski School Support Staff for Winter Seasonal 2026/2027. The role supports all ski/snowboard school operations outside instruction, with high guest interaction and duties across children’s programming, rental operations, check-in/out, and lift operations.

Starting wage is $20.00–$23.00 per hour; roles are full-time or part-time with seasonal commitment. Must be at least 14 years old; housing is not available.

Qualifications

• Fluent in all aspects of English language.
• Strong communication skills with guests and employees.
• Experience in a fast-paced, service-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Daily reservation and sales processing on resort operating systems.
• Set up and tear down of indoor facilities with attention to cleanliness and order.
• Support ski school operations and guest activities outside instruction.
• Assist with ski school rental setup and teardown as needed.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming facility during high guest volume.

Job Summary

Ski School Support Staff employees work in a fun high paced indoor/outdoor environment supporting all functions of ski/snowboard school operations outside of instruction. The role has high guest interaction supporting children's programming, rental operations, guest check-in/out, lesson scanning, and lesson area lift operations.

Job Specifications

Job Responsibilities

• Daily reservation and sales processing on our resort operating systems.
• Daily set up and tear down of indoor facilities, including work areas, with an emphasis on attention to detail to present an area that is clean, orderly, welcoming, and conducive to operating efficiently.
• Understanding of, and compliance with, stated policies/procedures relevant to health code compliance for facility cleanliness, including common areas, toys, equipment, etc.
• At times, assisting with ski school rental set up and teardown.
• Ability to keep and maintain a clean and orderly facility that accommodates daily high-volume guest flow.
• Working with small children to facilitate appropriate games and activities in both indoor and outdoor settings.
• Adhere to strict corporate policy regarding wearing a snow sports specific helmet while skiing/riding, or assisting lessons, in uniform.
• Understand, lead, and model safety standards within the department for yourself and others; contribute to our culture of Health and Safety to meet Zero Workman's Comp safety goal.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in a fast-paced, service-based environment
• Fluent in all aspects of English language
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays
• Strong communication skills with a wide variety of guests and employees
• Strong computer skills, typing, and data entry preferred
• Early childhood care experience preferred
• Ski or snowboarding experience to assist lessons as necessary preferred
• Successfully pass the background check required

The expected pay range is $20.00/hr - $23.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
