Vail Resorts in Vermont is hiring for Winter Seasonal roles including Alpine/Freestyle coaching and competition coaching. Roles involve coaching athletes, ensuring safety, and delivering high-quality guest service in an alpine environment.

Starting wage ranges from $21.25 to $26.57 per hour, with opportunities to grow through the company’s training and development programs. Seasonal employment runs through Winter 2026/2027, with additional benefits and employee programs available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• US Ski and Snowboard Level 100 or PSIA/AASI Level 1.
• Able to work holidays and weekends.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Upholding the highest levels of guest and personal safety on varied terrain under varying winter weather conditions.
• Match athletes to appropriate skier/skill level and work with supervisors to adjust when necessary.
• Clearly communicating instructions and assisting athletes during training sessions and at competitions.
• Supervising athletes in training and ensuring their return to a guardian.
• Assist in operational responsibilities of competition services and related programs including registration and equipment fitting.
• Other duties as assigned.

Alpine/Freestyle/SnowboardCompetitioncoaches workto provide quality ski/ridecoaching to athletes looking to compete at the local, regional and national level. Competition coaches focus on the overall development of athletes in a safe and fun environment while upholding all aspects of the Skier Responsibility Code, Park SMART, and Company guidelines. We are an in-house team, with foundation support and tremendous growth opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Upholding the highest levels of guest and personal safety on varied terrain under varying winter weather conditions.
• Ensuring that athletes are matched toappropriate skierskill level and working with supervisors/managers to makeappropriate changeswhen necessary.
• Clearly communicating instructions andassistingathletes during training sessions and at competitions.
• Supervising athletes in trainingat all times; ensuring return of athletes toidentifiedguardian.
• Assistingin operational responsibilities of competition services and related SRS programs including but not limited to registration process, directing athletes toappropriate equipmentfitting source, upkeep of outdoor training areas, and cleanliness of facilities.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have US Ski and Snowboard Level 100 or PSIA/AASI Level 1
• Attend Ski or Ride training sessions
• Must be fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written)
• Must have excellent guest service skills
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must work well in a team
• Must be able to work in inclement weather in a high alpine environment
• Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions
• Must be available to work holidays and weekends
• Must be able to lift, stand, walk, stoop, kneel,crouch, and reachfrequently.

Preferred Skills:

• Previousexperience with teaching/coaching/mentoring
• Experience coaching experience of winter sports athletes of all ages
• Previousski/snowboard coaching experience
• Knowledge of local area/resort

The expected pay range is$21.25/hr - $26.57/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
