Providence is seeking a Non-Certified Chaplain at Providence St. Vincent's Medical Center for an on-call, variable schedule.

This role delivers spiritual care to patients and caregivers across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, supporting the mission of caring for the whole person. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, with preference for theological advanced studies and clinical pastoral education units, plus pastoral experience.

  • Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or relevant religious studies is preferred.
  • 2 Units clinical pastoral education units are preferred.
  • 1 year Pastoral experience is preferred.

The Non-Certified Chaplain provides professional and competent spiritual care ministry, and is responsible for serving the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of care recipients and caregivers- in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or relevant religious studies similarly accepted in chaplaincy board certifying organizations.
  • Coursework/Training: 2 Units clinical pastoral education units.
  • 1 year Pastoral experience.
