Staffmark Group in Romeoville, IL is hiring a Non CDL Yard Hostler to move trailers in a fast-paced yard, operate a yard goat, and keep operations safe and on schedule. The job requires solid backing skills, ability to pass a customer interview and road test, and strict adherence to yard procedures.

You’ll use an onboard computer to coordinate trailer movements and inspections. Pay is $25.00 per hour with weekly pay and benefits; schedule is Thursday through Saturday (3-Day Work Week), with

Qualifications

• Minimum age 22.
• At least 1 year of yard hostling experience in the past 3 years.
• Strong backing skills, including blindside backing.
• Ability to pass a customer interview and road test.
• Safety-focused with an understanding of yard procedures and protocols.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a yard goat (yard dog) with an automatic transmission.
• Move 53 trailers in and out of dock doors.
• Relocate trailers and containers throughout the yard.
• Move approximately 30-50 trailers per shift.
• Utilize an onboard computer system to manage trailer movements.
• Perform backing maneuvers, including blindside backing.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Follow all yard safety procedures and customer protocols.
• Exit equipment to chock trailer wheels during loading operations.
• Verify trailers are clear before pulling away from dock doors.
• Maintain a safe and productive pace throughout the shift.
• Remain on-site within the yard during all operations.
