Job summary

Core-Mark International in Illinois is hiring a Yard Driver responsible for moving tractor trailers to and from loading docks and parking trailers safely in designated areas. You will ensure DOT compliance, communicate professionally with customers and vendors, and support timely operations across the distribution yard.

• Transports trailers to offsite maintenance or inspection facilities; local city driving required.
• Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment; completes all required documentation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Purpose

The Yard Driver is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies.
• Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks.
• Transports tractor trailers to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facilities; requires local city driving.
• Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always. Completes all required documentation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
• Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.
• Valid non-commercial driver’s license
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
• Pass road test
