Zūm in Branford, CT, is seeking a dedicated Non-CDL Van Driver to join our team. You will safely transport students to and from school, ensuring a positive environment. This role is safety-sensitive, as you'll manage the safe operation of a vehicle while conducting pre-trip inspections and maintaining student safety.

The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, 3+ years of driving experience, and strong communication skills. We offer competitive pay, healthcare benefits, and a supportive work environment.

Description

Zūm is calling for talent to join our team of passionate people, who are transforming student transportation. As a Non-CDL Van Driver at Zūm, you will safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities while ensuring a positive and secure environment. This is a safety-sensitive position because you are responsible for the safe operation of a vehicle transporting students, and any impairment could create a significant risk of harm. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy working with students and want to make a positive impact in their community.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues
• Ensure student safety during boarding, transit, and exiting the vehicle
• Manage student behavior and maintain a positive environment in the vehicle
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff

Requirements

• This role is classified as a safety-sensitive position
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Additional certifications required by state for legal non-cdl van operation
• Minimum 5 years of driving experience in a passenger vehicle required (WAC 392-144-101)
• Minimum age: 21 years
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass background check and drug test
• Physical ability to assist students and lift up to 50 lbs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
