Job summary

CTDI is seeking a Non-CDL Truck Driver to operate a small truck within the local area. Responsibilities include inspecting the vehicle, securing cargo, and processing shipping documents.

The role supports CTDI’s large-scale engineering and logistics operations and offers a night-shift schedule with overtime opportunities. Typical duties include loading/unloading assistance, maintaining logs, and ensuring DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent commercial delivery-driving experience.
• Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Reliability, adaptability, and dependability.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Attention to detail in task completion.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect truck pre- and post-trip.
• Complete vehicle inspection sheets and daily logs.
• Ensure cargo is loaded and secured for transit.
• Assist with loading/unloading cargo; obtain signatures on documents.
• Monitor maintenance and repair of the truck.
• Provide professional customer service and represent CTDI positively.
• Follow all Federal/State DOT and warehouse safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Non-CDL Truck Driver will drive a small truck to transport cargo to and from destinations within the immediate local area.

Shift

9:00PM - 9:00AM, 40 hours a week and OT available. Typical week is 4 days a week, Saturdays always off. Week starts Sunday night. 5 days off in a row every 3rd week.

Alternate routes are assigned, and you will typically drive four days per week on a rotating schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspects the truck pre- and post-trip.
• Accurately complete vehicle inspection sheets, fuel consumption logs, daily log sheets, bills of lading, vehicle trip records, and expense reports.
• Ensures all cargo is loaded, checked, and safely secured during transit.
• Assists with or oversees loading and unloading of cargo to ensure secure transit.
• Acquires all proper signatures on shipping/receiving documents.
• Monitors the maintenance and repair of the truck.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally and representing them company positively.
• Responsible for following all Federal and State DOT regulations as well as warehouse safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

• 2+ years recent commercial delivery-driving experience.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
• Capacity to demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and dependability.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Thoroughness and attention to detail in task completion.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus
• Strong commitment to customer service

Educational Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• The ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 85 lbs., if necessary
• Flexible shifts with the capability to undertake overnight trips 1-2 nights per week
• Comfortable sitting for extended periods
