Job summary

Moon Valley Nurseries is seeking a transfer driver to transport landscaping merchandise from our local farms to retail nurseries in California. This non-CDL role involves safe flatbed driving, coordinating deliveries, and delivering exceptional customer service.

You will help manage crews, ensure equipment is well-maintained, and support installation work orders while upholding MVN safety policies and providing reliable service to customers.

Qualifications

• Clean driving record and DOT drug & health screen required.
• Experience in a retail, nursery, landscaping, or related environment preferred.
• Solid understanding of HR and sales fundamentals.
• Knowledge of plants, planting, project management, landscaping, and customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-directed and motivated with entrepreneurial drive.
• Ability to work independently and meet inflexible deadlines.
• Basic computer skills including GPS and POS systems.
• Strong time management, attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to lift/move items over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently drive a flatbed truck (non-CDL) with inventory and tools.
• Oversee and participate in customer and nursery delivery operations.
• Provide outstanding customer service with product knowledge.
• Ensure MVN policy compliance through crew management, training & coaching.
• Conduct performance reviews and address issues with crews.
• Maintain truck cleanliness and proper equipment use.
• Review installation work orders for efficiency.
• Support logistics and customer-service issues as needed.
