All interested applicants for a Non-CDL Driver position, including those fully qualified with appropriate license and endorsements, begin with us as a Driver in Training. We invest significant resources in training and development to ensure our drivers are the best in the business.

A Driver in Training will be trained to obtain necessary Driver endorsement(s), learn our policies and procedures, and upon successful completion, be placed in a Non-CDL Driver role.

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing safe and reliable transportation by operating a school bus or other vehicle along a fixed or changing route.
• Exhibiting high ethical standards and integrity; reporting suspicious or inappropriate behavior.
• Reporting on time and maintaining routes safely and punctually.
• Assisting passengers in emergencies.
• Reporting accidents or incidents immediately.
• Following policies on student and passenger management.
• Communicating problems or procedures to relevant personnel.
• Maintaining a neat and professional appearance.
• Completing required paperwork promptly.
• Promoting a cooperative attitude with colleagues, supervisors, and passengers.
• Using vehicle equipment safely, including wheelchair lifts, radios, and emergency gear.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Additional responsibilities may apply for Paratransit Drivers depending on location.

Requirements Include:

• Must be at least 21 years old; 25 years old for Tennessee School Bus Drivers.
• Possess or be able to obtain valid applicable licenses and certifications.
• Meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance screening.
• Successfully complete training.
• Practice defensive driving and safe work habits.
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local driver requirements.
