Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine physician to join our Hospital Medicine team at Duke Raleigh Hospital in North Carolina. The nocturnist will provide nighttime care for hospitalized adults in a closed ICU, with a 12 shifts/month schedule and a flexible 5–9 day block.

Candidates should be MD or DO, with ABIM/ABPM Board Certification or Eligibility, completed Internal Medicine residency, and eligible for an unrestricted NC medical license.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency required.
• BC/BE in Internal Medicine; eligible for North Carolina medical licensure.

Responsibilities

Duke Raleigh Hospital is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine physician to join our nationally recognized Hospital Medicine team. This role will be based at our Duke Raleigh campus, which is a 230-bed facility with an average census of around the 200s in 2025. The hospital medicine census is around 70% of the hospital census.

Position Highlights

• Provide nighttime care for hospitalized adult patients at our Duke Raleigh campus
• Closed ICU, no procedures expected, 12 shifts/month
• Schedule is flexible, usually a 5-9-day block with a similar number of days off

Candidate Qualifications
