Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine physician to join our Hospital Medicine team at Duke Raleigh Hospital in North Carolina. The nocturnist will provide nighttime care for hospitalized adults in a closed ICU, with a 12 shifts/month schedule and a flexible 5–9 day block.

Candidates should be MD or DO, with ABIM/ABPM Board Certification or Eligibility, completed Internal Medicine residency, and eligible for an unrestricted NC medical license.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency required.
• BC/BE in Internal Medicine; eligible for North Carolina medical licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide nighttime care for hospitalized adult patients at the Duke Raleigh Hospital campus.
• Work with a closed ICU setting; no procedures expected; 12 shifts/month.
• Flexible schedule, typically a 5–9 day block with similar days off.
