Job summary

AT&T Global Public Sector is recruiting a NOC Specialist (Satellite) to support Federal Government O&M operations. The position is based at Mount Weather, VA, with occasional telework from home and weekend rotations. Travel may be required; Top Secret clearance is needed eventually.

The role requires hands-on satellite network management, iDirect experience, and the ability to generate reports on bandwidth usage and traffic analysis for government task orders.

Qualifications

• Experience with satellite networks and iDirect solutions.
• Ability to monitor, analyze traffic, and generate reports.
• Willing to obtain a government Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot, configure and manage the DHS FEMA voice, data and satellite network.
• Administer, monitor and operate Earth Station equipment and remote servers.
• Provide bandwidth usage reports, traffic analysis, and daily schedules as required by the task order.
• Ensure satellite systems are fully operational and provide connections to mobile units.
• Support Tier 1 satellite operations and related duties, including after-hours and occasional travel.
• Work at the Mount Weather NOC with possible telework from home on occasion.

AT&T has an opening for a NOC Specialist (Satellite) to support the Federal Government in providing O&M / PM support of contracted operations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Monitors, troubleshoots, configures and manages the Department of Homeland Security (FEMA) voice, data and satellite network.
• Candidates must have satellite knowledge and skill sets, preferable with an iDirect satellite solution and provide monitoring and reporting support to a satellite hub station.
• Job responsibilities include but may not be limited to: Responsibilities include administration, monitoring and operation of the Earth Station equipment, remote access servers, remote client systems, software patches and software updates.
• The NOC Specialist (Satellite) will actively monitor the satellite systems to ensure it is fully operational and capable of providing the required connections to the mobile units, provide bandwidth usage reports, traffic analysis reports, daily schedules and other reports deemed necessary by government task order.
• The staff must be able to maneuver space segments within the satellite system to support new and/or change requirements.
• This is a Tier 1 position that will support satellite but may also provide other Tier 1 support outside of satellite operations.
• Work is performed at the Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center (MWEOC) Network Operations Center, backup location is in Winchester Virginia, and includes a requirement to telework from personal residence on occasion. This position includes weekend rotation and may require evening and out of hours support. Occasional travel may be required, or other duties as assigned.

Required Clearance

Employee must be willing and able to obtain a Government issued Top Secret Security clearance. Must be able to initially obtain Public Trust and follow-on TS (#clearable)
