Job description

Network Operations Center (NOC) Network Administrator

The Network Operations Center (NOC) Network Administrator will provide operations support to an important government customer in Washington D.C. The Network Administrator is responsible for providing onsite support to ensure infrastructure availability that meets established SLA and performance metrics acceptable to the customer. This role involves management and support of vendor- and technology-diverse networks and infrastructures, supporting a worldwide network with over 2,800 networking devices, including switches, routers, and wireless access points. The position also supports several network management systems monitoring the IP stack's various layers.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide alarm monitoring, incident escalation and resolution, and mentor junior analysts.
  • Troubleshoot network systems and implement improvements.
  • Lead technical efforts during critical network incidents.
  • Offer technical and management leadership on major tasks.
  • Implement, install, configure, operate, and maintain network tools including Cisco WLAN, Cisco ISE NAC, and Zscaler.
  • Diagnose complex network problems using software and hardware tools.
  • Support operational security requirements for network devices and tools.
  • Support various network areas such as Wireless LAN, IP address management, DNS, and VPNs.
Required Skills/Experience:
  • U.S. Citizen and pass DHS employment verification.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years in IT support, preferably in network engineering or operations.
  • 4+ years supporting network areas like wireless management, Cisco ISE, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN incidents.
  • Expertise in CCNP-level switching/routing, including protocols like OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VRRP, HSRP.
  • Experience with server administration in cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of SDN and SD-WAN technologies.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Managing SPLUNK search heads.
  • Windows and Linux server administration experience.
  • Experience with SD-WAN, AWS, Azure, Cloud+, CCNP Security, Juniper JNCIA-SEC, Zscaler platform, and security clearance eligibility.
