About the Opportunity

DMI is seeking a NOC Network Administrator to support our customers. The NOC Network Administrator performs a variety of network management functions related to the operation, performance, or availability of data communications networks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Effectively monitor all devices, platforms, and services within a network environment.
  • Ensure efficient resolution of service requests and incidents, ensuring compliance with assigned SLAs.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and effective communication on service-impacting incidents.
  • Assist with service-related projects as required.
  • Analyze client LANs/WANs, isolate problems, and recommend reconfiguration and new hardware to improve performance.
  • Modify command language programs and network startup files; assign/reassign network device logical configurations; participate in load balancing efforts to optimize device utilization and performance.
  • Troubleshoot network/user problems and present resolutions for implementation.
  • Prepare various network resource reports.
Qualifications

Education: An Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or two (2) years of college study in these areas. Certification as a network administrator for a specific network OS is preferred. Two (2) additional years of specialized experience may substitute for education.

Certificates: Must have an active Cisco certification (e.g., CCNA).

General Experience: Minimum of two (2) years in a computer-related field with advanced knowledge of network operating systems.

Specialized Experience: At least one (1) year in data communications engineering, hardware/software analysis, network management, or related fields. Experience with SNMP and RMON software, Ethernet, FDDI, high-speed WANs, and routers is required.

Practical Requirements / Tools:

  • Reliable internet service.
  • Experience with IT Network Management and Monitoring systems (e.g., SolarWinds Orion).
  • Knowledge of DNS and its functions.
  • CLI (Command Line Interface) and SSH clients (e.g., PuTTY).
  • Experience with service desk/ticketing systems (e.g., Maximo).
  • Knowledge of Cisco TACACS, Aruba ClearPass, Microsoft Active Directory, and MS Office Suite.
Technology Skills:
  • Networking fundamentals, including Cisco switching and routing (CCNA preferred).
  • Understanding of TCP/IP stack.
  • Basic WiFi troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and workflow management.
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to troubleshoot over the phone.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently.
  • Respond with appropriate urgency and handle stressful situations effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and improve skills.
  • Attention to detail.
Additional Requirements:

Successful completion of a fingerprint background check.
