Overview

GovCIO is seeking a highly skilled Help Desk Support/Network Administrator to support a range of responsibilities that ensure the smooth operation of the Veterans Affairs IT infrastructure. The candidate will respond to user incidents and assist in resolving IT-related problems. This position is fully remote and located within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Implement security measures to protect data and ensure compliance with VA policies.
  • Establish and configure user accounts and workstations to support organizational productivity.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations and policies.
  • Assist teams with network access, troubleshooting, and technical guidance.
  • Manage backup solutions and disaster recovery plans.
  • Set up and manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions.
  • Maintain troubleshooting documentation and best practices.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or related field with 5-8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with customers and teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

Clearance Required:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
