Job summary

Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC) seeks an experienced NMO Technician to advance testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and refurbishing across subsystems. This role supports engineering, prototypes, development, and production for low-volume/high-mix electronic, mechanical, or software products while maintaining high workmanship standards.

The position requires demonstrating advanced technical aptitude, teamwork, and the ability to work on-site with occasional travel, and may require

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in a related technical role with formal training or military equivalent.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to work on-site as directed by management.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is essential.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.

  • Engage with FM&T customers and represent the company positively.
  • Understands Honeywell OS and MOS core elements.
  • Work self-directed or in teams, prioritizing business needs.
  • Exhibits informal leadership and mentorship within teams.
  • Assist engineers and other technicians with tasks.

The Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC), managed and operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, is a premier advanced manufacturing facility that supports the safety, security, reliability and effectiveness of our nation's nuclear deterrent. Summary

This role is the next advanced step in the NMO Technician job progression. It includes advanced level testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and refurbishing, demonstrating an advanced understanding of sub-systems and interconnectivity between main systems. This position also supports engineering, prototypes, development, and production for low volume/high mix electronics, mechanical, or software products while maintaining advanced workmanship standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates advanced level of experience across many different aspects of the field they support.
  • Demonstrates unique electrical/mechanical skills and abilities.
  • Reads, understands, and follows work procedures to accurately record results.
  • Learns from project leads/subject matter experts while demonstrating technical aptitude.
  • Uses equipment, techniques, and tools necessary to complete tasks.
  • Possesses ability to efficiently navigate FM&T portal or other shared information and locate key applications or documentation when required.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively engage with FM&T customers and represent the company in a positive light.
  • Understands and role models use of the core elements of Honeywell Operating Systems (HOS) and Management Operating Systems (MOS).
  • Demonstrates ability to consistently be self-directed and work individually, or within a team while understanding the priorities of the business to make day-to-day decisions.
  • Displays informal leadership and role model characteristics among teams.
  • Assists engineers and other technicians with a variety of tasks and responsibilities within work area.
You Must Have
  • High School Diploma.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a related technical role with formal training or practical experience equivalent to technical knowledge obtained in military training courses or through a 2-year technical degree.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
