Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking an experienced Data Scientist, AI/ML Engineer, or AI Product Manager to join our AI capability engineering team.

You will help turn prototypes into reliable, maintainable services and own product discovery, requirements, stakeholder engagement, and adoption for NLP and Generative AI products. You will work with data scientists, developers, and subject matter experts to drive drug discovery and development using cutting-edge AI/ML and data science techniques across

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in data science, AI/ML engineering, Agentic AI, AI product management, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business partners and scientists to translate operational pain points into technical user stories.
• Own and prioritize product backlog and organize it for regular deliveries.
• Write clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and value capture plans for cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrate adoption of features through user enablement and structured feedback collection.
• Understand structured and unstructured data to address partner needs.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to integrate prototypes into production pipelines.
• Establish evaluation metrics and verify model performance for business value.
