Job summary

Merck & Co. seeks an Associate Director, AI Activation & Data Science to lead the technical design and production deployment of strategic AI initiatives within Digital Human Health.

You will drive LLM-based solutions, agentic systems, and guardrails, partnering with brand, ME, and analytics teams to deliver measurable business value. Qualifications

• 5+ years in AI/ML engineering or applied data science, with at least 2 years building generative AI/LLM-based solutions.
• Deep expertise in LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning.
• Proven track record taking AI solutions from prototype to production at enterprise scale with APIs and cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of DHH-wide AI initiatives.
• Design generative AI and agentic solutions, including LLM apps and multi-agent workflows.
• Establish scalable architectures, guardrails, and MLOps/LLMOps practices with strong governance.
