POSITION SUMMARY

A & Associates is seeking compassionate, resourceful, and highly dependable Field Social Services Case Workers to support a specialized federal community-based family services program.

This is a field-intensive social services position for professionals who are comfortable working independently and interacting directly with individuals and families in community and residential settings. Field Social Services Case Workers will conduct scheduled visits, gather and verify information, assess and document observations, identify potential health, safety, or welfare concerns, and complete detailed case documentation in accordance with established program requirements.

The ideal candidate has a background or demonstrated interest in social work, human services, family services, behavioral health, psychology, case management, community outreach, healthcare, education, or other people-centered service environments.

This role requires professionalism, empathy, sound judgment, discretion, strong documentation skills, and the ability to establish appropriate rapport with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct scheduled field and community-based visits throughout an assigned geographic territory.
  • Meet professionally with individuals and families in residential and community settings.
  • Gather, verify, and document information in accordance with established program protocols.
  • Observe and document circumstances related to the health, safety, and general welfare of assigned individuals.
  • Identify and appropriately report potential concerns in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain professional boundaries while demonstrating empathy, cultural awareness, and respect.
  • Conduct follow-up activities and maintain appropriate communication with program participants and designated stakeholders.
  • Prepare clear, objective, detailed, and timely electronic case notes and field reports.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential case documentation.
  • Utilize mobile devices, electronic case-management systems, and web-based applications to document field activities.
  • Manage an assigned workload while meeting required visit, documentation, and reporting deadlines.
  • Protect confidential and sensitive information at all times.
  • Follow all applicable federal, state, client, program, and A & Associates policies and procedures.
  • Participate in required training, meetings, and continuing program instruction.
  • Travel to other geographic areas for temporary assignments when operationally required.
  • Perform other related duties consistent with the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Behavioral Health, Criminal Justice, Family Studies, Healthcare, Education, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in social services, case management, family services, community outreach, behavioral health, child or family support, healthcare, education, or a related human-services environment.
  • Experience conducting home visits, field visits, community assessments, wellness checks, or client interviews.
  • Experience working with children, families, vulnerable populations, or culturally diverse communities.
  • Experience maintaining case files, case notes, assessments, or other confidential documentation.
  • Experience working with a government agency, government contractor, nonprofit organization, or government-funded community program.
  • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills are highly desirable.
  • Previous federal background investigation, suitability determination, or security clearance is a plus.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Extensive travel is an essential function of this position.

Field Social Services Case Workers must be willing and able to travel throughout their assigned geographic territory. Depending upon program needs, temporary assignments outside an employee's primary service area may also be required.

Travel requirements may include:

  • Daily travel to multiple field locations.
  • Local and regional travel throughout the assigned state or service territory.
  • Temporary assignments in surrounding geographic areas.
  • Occasional out-of-state travel based on operational needs.
  • Occasional overnight travel.
  • Independent management of daily field schedules, appointments, travel routes, and reporting deadlines.

Employees must maintain a valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.

Approved business travel and authorized expenses, including applicable mileage, lodging, meals, parking, and tolls, will be reimbursed in accordance with A & Associates policy and applicable contract requirements.

FEDERAL SCREENING REQUIREMENTS

This position supports a federal program. Employment and assignment are contingent upon the candidate successfully completing all required company and federal pre-employment screening and suitability requirements.

Screening may include, as applicable:

  • Criminal background investigation.
  • Employment and education verification.
  • Identity and eligibility verification.
  • Fingerprinting.
  • Driving-record review.
  • Federal personnel security or suitability review.
  • Other program-specific screening requirements.

Candidates must maintain eligibility and satisfy all continuing requirements applicable to the assignment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The position requires the ability to travel and work in field-based environments. Employees must be able to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods; enter and exit vehicles frequently; navigate residential and community locations; occasionally lift or carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds; and regularly use a laptop, tablet, smartphone, and other mobile technology necessary to perform essential job functions.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, field-based position. Work schedules are driven by program and operational requirements and may vary based on field appointments and geographic assignments.

Candidates must have the flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, extended days, and overnight assignments when required.

COMPENSATION AND TRAVEL

Starting compensation is $20.00 per hour.

Overtime will be paid in accordance with applicable federal and state wage-and-hour requirements.

Approved business travel and authorized expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy and applicable contract requirements.
