Job summary

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. is seeking an experienced Operations Technician for the Odessa, TX site. You will monitor and control nitrogen production, perform preventative maintenance, and support safe operation on an 8-hour shift with on-call coverage for nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in operations, maintenance, or monitoring of industrial process plants.
• Ability to read/understand piping and instrumentation drawings.
• Electrical, instrument or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communications.
• A flexible teammate with a positive demeanor.
• Desire to work in a team environment.
• Dedication to safety and continuous improvement. Safety sensitive role.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and safety inspections.
• Maintain water chemistry and plant log readings.
• Troubleshoot equipment and respond to process upsets.
• Issue safety permits and perform lock out/tag out.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, environmental and quality procedures.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and update operating procedures as required.
• Contribute to Operational Excellence for safe, reliable operation.
