Job summary

Confluent Medical Technologies in California seeks a Staff Thermomechanical Process Development Engineer to advance robust Nitinol device fabrication. You will design fixtures, develop heat-treatment processes, and lead validation efforts to meet stringent medical standards.

You will collaborate with operators, technicians, and other engineers to ensure high precision manufacturing, apply Six Sigma and lean principles, and translate complex drawings and metallurgical concepts into reliable

Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
4–8 years of related engineering experience.
SolidWorks modeling and drawing.
Experience with Minitab or JMP desirable.
Familiarity with metalworking/machining processes.

Responsibilities

Work as part of Confluent’s multifunctional Process Development Team responsible for development, optimization, and validation of medical device production processes.
Design high precision fixtures and tooling for forming, heat treatment, crimping, and honing processes.
Develop heat treatment processes for Nitinol components.
Lead engineering studies and process validation efforts.
Create manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, inspection plans, and technical memorandums.
Work in collaboration with operators, technicians, and other engineers to deliver devices that meet customer requirements.
