Key Responsibilities

• Retrieve cars from designated parking areas and return them when repairs are completed; follow key control procedures; ensure that customers’ vehicles are returned clean.
• Properly complete the services and/or repairs for which the Technician is assigned, producing quality work that reflects pride of workmanship and meeting production objectives.
• Accurately complete multi‑point inspections and record results; complete all work according to safety requirements and published procedures/repair instructions; pull documents and bulletins related to maintenance items or described symptoms each time.
• Complete required ongoing manufacturer and dealership training.
• Maintain an inventory of normal mechanic’s tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, pliers, hammers, chisels, punches, and other tools) needed for the Technician’s trained work and not normally inventoried by the Service Department as "special tools."
• Properly use special tools and equipment provided by the Service Department and return them promptly; use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.
• Provide administrative assistance necessary to complete warranty repair orders and other tasks assigned by management.
• Proactively communicate potential issues with Service Advisors, Parts Department, management, and other departments in order to provide the best possible customer experience and fix‑it right the first time.
• Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Shifts vary; the dealership operates Monday–Saturday; scheduling may require weekends before/after business hours.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Authorized to work in the USA for any employer.
• Current and valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; insurable under our garage‑keepers policy standards.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Basic communication, problem‑solving, and mathematical skills using American units of measure.
• All associates should abide by company policy and departmental best practices and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

• Frequent traversal of multi‑level dealership property and various terrain to retrieve vehicles and navigate the shop.
• Constantly move and position body to perform maintenance and repair duties, including stationary positioning in confined vehicle spaces and non‑standard or awkward angles for extended periods.
• Enter, exit, drive, and operate vehicles; detect and identify vehicle issues and shop safety concerns.
• Exert force to move/manipulate objects up to 100lbs occasionally, 65lbs frequently, and 25lbs constantly; operate tools and equipment with repetitive motion.
• Work inside, outside, on public and private roadways, and in proximity to moving vehicles and equipment in a shop environment with potential exposure to loud noises and various industrial chemicals.

Safety Protocols

Employees are trained in protocols for proper material and chemical handling and provided with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with OSHA standards. Employees must strictly adhere to all mandatory safety protocols and PPE requirements.
