Job summary

Nissan Greenville is seeking an entry-level Express Automotive Technician to start a career in automotive service. You will join the Express Automotive Technician Department and work toward growing skills in repairs, inspections, and customer-focused service.

This role emphasizes hands-on learning, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and quality, with opportunities for training and advancement within RBM Automotive Group.

Qualifications

• Basic communication, problem solving, and math skills using American units of measure.
• Must be able to follow safety procedures and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve cars from designated parking areas and return them to the area when repairs are completed.
• Complete the services and/or repairs assigned with quality workmanship.
• Perform multi-point inspections and record results per procedures.
• Complete required manufacturer and dealership training.
• Maintain an inventory of common mechanic tools and use tools and shop supplies properly.
• Provide administrative assistance for warranty repair orders and tasks.
• Proactively communicate issues with Service Advisors, Parts, and management.
• Report safety or shop concerns to management when observed.

Key Responsibilities

• Retrieve cars from designated parking areas and return to that area when repairs are completed; Follow key control procedures; Ensure that customers’ vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.
• Properly complete the services and/or repairs for which the Technician is assigned. Produce quality work that evidence pride of workmanship and make every effort to achieve the production objectives.
• Accurately complete Multi-point Inspections and record results; Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures/work repair instructions; Pull documents and bulletins pertaining to maintenance items or described symptoms every time.
• Complete required ongoing manufacturer and dealership training.
• Maintain an inventory of normal mechanic's tools to include screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, pliers, hammers, chisels and punches, and other tools needed to perform the work for which the Technician is trained and not normally inventoried by the Service Department as "special tools".
• Properly use special tools and equipment provided by the Service Department and return promptly. Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.
• Provide the administrative assistance necessary to complete warranty repair orders and other tasks assigned by management.
• Proactively communicate potential issues with Service Advisors, Parts Department, management, and other departments in order to provide the best possible customer experience and fix-it right the first time.
• Promptly Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Shifts vary; Dealership Operates Monday - Saturday; Scheduling may require weekends before/after business hours.
• High school diploma or the equivalent
• Authorized to work in the USA for any employer
• All applicants must have a current and valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and must be insurable under our garage-keepers policy standards
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
• Basic communication, problem solving, and mathematical skills using American units of measure
• Physical demands include: frequently traverse multi-level Dealership property and various terrain in order to retrieve vehicles and navigate shop; constantly move and position body to perform maintenance and repair job duties including stationary positioning in confined vehicle spaces and non-standard or awkward angles for extended periods of time; enter/exit/drive/operate vehicles; detect and identify vehicle issues and shop safety concerns; exert force to move/manipulate objects* (up to 100lbs occasionally, 65lbs frequently, 25lbs constantly); operate tools and equipment; repetitive motion
• Work is conducted inside, outside, on public and private roadways, and in proximity to moving vehicles and equipment in a shop environment with potential exposure to loud *noises and various industrial *chemicals.
