Job summary

Zoetis, Inc. in Kalamazoo, MI seeks a Biologics Formulations Summer Intern to develop a rapid NIR-based moisture analysis tool for lyophilized products. You will prepare samples, collect KF and NIR data, and build chemometric models to predict moisture and improve lyophilization processes.

The role focuses on data-driven formulation research, stability, and product quality, with hands-on lab work and technical reporting across a 10–12 week window.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a laboratory setting and recording data.
• Interest in Lyophilization techniques, PAT, spectroscopy (NIR/IR).
• Comfortable with data (e.g. Excel, JMP).
• Detail-oriented, able to document experimental work.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize and operate lyophilization equipment and prepare samples across moisture targets.
• Perform Karl Fischer titration and acquire NIR spectra.
• Develop and evaluate chemometric models (PLS) correlating NIR spectra with KF moisture.
• Process and analyze experimental data; assess model performance.
• Document findings and support technical reports and presentations.
