Wytheville Community College seeks a full-time, nine-month Dental Hygiene faculty member to teach in the A.A.S. in Dental Hygiene and Career Studies Certificate in Dental Assisting programs.

The role emphasizes CODA-compliant didactic, preclinical laboratory, and clinical instruction within the Division of Health Professions and Medical Services. Responsibilities include student advising, clinical site supervision, curriculum review, learning outcomes assessment, and maintaining infection

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene and an associate’s degree in dental hygiene are required.
• Current, unencumbered RDH license in Virginia or eligible for licensure.
• Current certification in Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide analgesia.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR certification.
• Minimum of three years of full-time clinical practice as a licensed dental hygienist.

Responsibilities

• Provide didactic, preclinic laboratory, and clinical instruction for the A.A.S. in Dental Hygiene and the Career Studies Certificate in Dental Assisting.
• Comply with CODA standards in all instructional activities.
• Advise students and supervise clinical sites.
• Review curriculum and assess student learning outcomes.
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols.
• Serve on college and division committees; participate in recruitment, community service, and regional partnerships.
