Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene or a related health field plus an associate degree in dental hygiene.
• Current, unencumbered RDH license in Virginia or eligible for licensure prior to appointment.
• Current certification in Local Anesthesia administration and Nitrous Oxide analgesia.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR certification.
• Minimum of three years of full-time (or equivalent) clinical practice as a licensed dental hygienist.

Responsibilities

• Teach didactic, preclinic lab, and clinic instruction for A.A.S. in Dental Hygiene and Career Studies Certificate in Dental Assisting, per CODA standards.
• Provide student advising and supervise clinical sites; participate in curriculum review and student learning outcomes assessment.
• Maintain infection control/safety protocols and serve on college and division committees.
• Support student recruitment activities, community service initiatives, and collaborative regional partnerships.
