Job summary

The University of Virginia (UVA) School of Nursing is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee the NIH grant’s day-to-day operations, regulatory compliance, and scientific management. You will serve as the hub between principal investigators, study teams, IRBs, and NIH program officials, ensuring milestones, budgets, and reporting are on schedule.

Strong organizational, communication, and data-management skills are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred or equivalent research/PM experience.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant project management experience in research.
• Direct experience managing federally funded grants (NIH) is highly preferred.
• Experience with neuro-oncology research is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution of NIH-funded study per protocol, timeline, and aims.
• Coordinate milestones, workflows and tasks across multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare and maintain IRB protocols, continuations, amendments, and adverse event reports.
• Ensure NIH/federal guidelines, human subjects protections, and DSMB compliance.
• Draft progress reports, budget modifications, and no-cost extensions as needed.
• Serve as liaison between investigators, NIH program officers, advisory boards, and community partners.
• Organize meetings, take minutes, track progress, and prepare materials for advisory groups.
• Assist PI with data collection tracking, manuscript preparation, and RPPRs.
• Supervise coordinators or student workers as applicable.
