Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Trauma & Surgical ICU Nocturnist Physician Assistant to provide overnight management of critically ill surgical patients in a Level I trauma center. You will work with trauma surgeons, residents, and nursing staff to implement individualized care plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Master's PA program.
• NCCPA board certification.
• Active PA license in Ohio and eligibility for federal DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight management of critically ill patients in the Trauma & Surgical ICU.
• Collaborate with Trauma/Critical Care attendings, residents, and nursing to develop plans of care.
• Evaluate new concerns and respond to changes in condition overnight.
• Collect and interpret data to document assessments and treatment plans.
• Manage postoperative and critically ill patients across surgical specialties.
• Perform bedside procedures within scope and privileges (central venous/arterial access, chest tubes).
• Participate in ventilator management and hemodynamic stabilization.
• Respond to emergencies and assist in resuscitations.
• Communicate changes and hand off care to daytime teams.
• Ensure timely documentation and adherence to care plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive overnight care.
• Promote patient and family education and safety.
