Job summary

Evolve Treatment Centers in California seeks an Overnight Residential Counselor to supervise and protect teens in a 6-bed residential center. You will stay awake through the night (10pm–6am), perform light maintenance, and assist with inventory while maintaining safety and documentation in KIPU.

The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and a strong team player, with 6–9 months’ experience with teens facing mental health or substance issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must be able to stay awake all night; overnight shift experience preferred
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must have 6–9 months of experience working with teens with mental health or substance abuse
• Have 6–9 months of experience in an adolescent group home or similar setting
• All schedules require at least 1 weekend shift
• Background checks (LiveScan, federal/state) must be clear; child abuse index checks
• Possess a valid California driver’s license
• Must be willing to interact with COVID-positive clients, as needed

Responsibilities

• Be awake, alert, and active for the entire duration of the night shift (10pm-6am)
• Ensure clients are in bed all night and visible at all times
• Check on the clients every 15 minutes
• Walk through the facility and perform a maintenance check
• Assist with inventory checks and notify facility manager of issues
• Document all shift activity in KIPU
• Help maintain the cleanliness of the facility
• Attend and participate in monthly Treatment Team Meetings
