Job summary

Mercy is seeking an RN Clinical Supervisor for the Inpatient Med/Surg East unit at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. The role ensures safe, high-quality patient care, staff resource planning, and collaboration with physicians and administration to meet productivity goals.

The supervisor will lead staffing, workflow, and processes in a fast-paced environment, while upholding Mercy’s mission and service standards. Strong nursing leadership and BLS CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license or temporary permit in Missouri.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of direct patient care experience.
• Active BLS CPR Certification through the American Heart Association

• Assists in planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of operations and patient care for designated areas.
• Serves as a clinical resource for staff and patients in the department.
• Functions as a staff nurse in the department as needed.

Qualifications Required

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Required Licensure: Current RN license or temporary permit in the state of Missouri.

Required Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of direct patient care experience.

Required Certifications: Active BLS CPR Certification through the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licensure: Active RN license in good standing (if not already listed above).

Experience: Prior supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.

Experience in a Med/Surg setting is highly desirable.

Transforming the Health of Our Communities Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
