Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Behavioral Health nights. The role involves 12-hour shifts from 7P to 7A, full-time with 36 hours per week and every other weekend, in a 24-bed Behavioral Health unit close to home.

Active Virginia RN license or compact license is required along with an Associate's degree in nursing; BSN preferred. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license.
• Associate's degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
