Job summary

US 1 Shorthaul is seeking a Lead Driver for night shifts at Elsmere, KY. This full-time, hourly yard jockey position handles trailer moves, drop-and-hook duties, and yard operations with weekly pay and a safety-first approach.

You will operate yard goats, perform required inspections, maintain reports, and ensure compliance with DOT rules, while communicating in English. CDL-A and 18+ months OTR in the past 5 years are required.

Qualifications

• Possess a team-player attitude.
• Ability to read, understand, and demonstrate safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to request and complete trailer moves in the Yard Management System (YMS).
• Understanding and communicating in the English language is a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers in and out of dock with yard goats.
• Drop and hook responsibilities.
• Perform yard audits at end of shift.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and submit reports on truck conditions.
• Adhere to safety-sensitive guidelines for yard operations.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
