Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking an experienced Supervisor, House - RN to lead hospital operations during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The role coordinates staffing, patient flow, and patient safety while serving as the primary contact for staff and families after hours.

The position requires an Associate Degree in Nursing or higher, valid RN licensure, and 1–2 years of nursing leadership experience. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in nursing required.
• RN licensure required.
• 1-2 years of related experience in nursing leadership preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and coordinate shift operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversees hospital operations during assigned shifts with appropriate staffing to meet patient care needs.
• Monitors census, coordinates admissions, discharges, transfers, and bed utilization.
• Acts as administrative point of contact during non-business hours and resolves inquiries or conflicts.
• Responds to emergencies and coordinates resources to ensure safety and high-quality care.
• Serves as incident commander during disasters until relieved by a senior leader.
• Supervises nursing staff, provides guidance, delegation, and performance feedback.
• Ensures compliance with policies and regulatory standards; investigates deviations.
• Maintains patient and family communication with professionalism and empathy.
• Completes and validates midnight census; conducts hospital rounds for safety and quality checks.
