Job summary

AdventHealth Ocala is seeking a PRN Phlebotomy Technician to support patient testing needs. You will conduct phlebotomy, collect specimens, and process tests while ensuring safety and accuracy in a high-demand setting.

Responsibilities include sampling, labeling, and reporting results, plus assisting with clerical tasks and patient coordination as required. Must be able to work nights and weekends in a team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv.
• Phlebotomy training program completed.
• Six months of relevant healthcare experience required.
• Six months AdventHealth Lab experience preferred.
• Technical/Vocational School preferred.

Responsibilities

• May perform point of care testing, quality control, maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation and result reporting.
• Collects patient, physician, and test order information to create patient accounts.
• May perform blood specimen collection, including phlebotomy and skin puncture for all age groups.
• Receives, processes, and transports patient specimens and related procedures.
• Trains new staff and students as a preceptor when assigned.
