Job summary

Arch Precision, LLC is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator for 3rd shift (Mon-Thu, 7:30pm–6:00am) and a weekend shift (Fri-Sun, 5:30am–6:00pm). You will verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using preset gauges and perform hourly inspections per blueprints and work orders.

Daily tasks include setting up fixtures and tools, adjusting machine controls to keep tolerances, starting machines, and monitoring lubrication and coolant levels.

Responsibilities

• Verifies conformance of work pieces to specifications using preset gauges, micrometers and dial indicators
• Documents hourly inspections for conforming production of product
• Presets and changes cutting tools and tool holders to maintain production requirements
• Adjusts machine controls and changes tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances
• Sets up fixture or feeding device, starts machine and engages feed
• Observes Lubricants and Coolants to ensure they meet specifications as defined in machine manual
• Confers with supervisor to resolve machine malfunctions and production errors and obtains approval to continue production
• Sets up and operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts
• Studies blueprints, work orders, and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed
• Selects, places, and secures tools
• Places and secures workpieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches
• Prepares fixtures and feeding devices, starts machine, and engages feed
• Observes each machine to verify quality performance
• Verifies measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers are in proper working order
• Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines
• Sharpens tools with bench grinder as needed
• Maintains machines per machine operating and maintenance manuals
• Analyze and diagnose machine and tooling problems and take corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of schedules
• Achieve highest safety levels in the plant
• Employ 5S to all functions within the plant
• Mentor and motivate team in safety, quality and productivity improvements
