Job summary

Aagard in Alexandria, MN is seeking a Night or Weekend Lathe Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision parts. The role requires reading CAD drawings, adjusting tooling, and maintaining quality.

You will record usage in the ERP, monitor performance, and participate in continuous improvement while maintaining safe, clean work areas. Benefits are provided as part of our comprehensive package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred and 1 year machinist experience.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and blueprints.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC equipment.
• Ability to read measurement instruments.
• Strong math for part measurements.
• Safety-conscious and detail-oriented.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multiple CNC mills and lathes to produce parts to exact specifications.
• Modify and optimize machining code to maximize equipment capabilities and performance.
• Record part movement, run time, and material usage in the ERP system.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust workflows to maintain throughput and minimize delays.
• Inspect components against prints and tolerances to ensure quality.
• Troubleshoot machining issues promptly to prevent defects and downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and contribute to continuous improvement.
