Job summary

Costa Farms is seeking a reliable Night Watch to patrol and monitor greenhouse heating across multiple zones. You will serve as the first line of defense against security breaches and equipment failures during the 7:00 PM – 6:00 AM shift.

Responsibilities include perimeter security, hourly heater checks, basic troubleshooting, and vigilant log keeping to prevent crop loss in winter conditions. Must be able to work alone on a dark farm overnight.

Qualifications

• Experience in overnight security, watchman duties, or related property caretaking.
• Valid state driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to drive safely during overnight hours.

Responsibilities

• Unarmed security patrols: perform scheduled perimeter checks to deter trespassing and theft.
• Heater and climate monitoring: inspect greenhouse heaters hourly and ensure stable temperatures.
• Troubleshooting: identify heating malfunctions and follow SOPs to resolve issues.
• Emergency escalation: contact on-call maintenance during critical failures to prevent crop loss.
• Log keeping: maintain an overnight log of temperatures, heater performance, fuel levels, and security checks.
• Snow and ice clearance: keep exits and vents clear during winter storms.
