Job description

  • Base Pay $23.00 - $25.00 / Hour

Description
The Night Watchperson is responsible for following established routines to guard the Company's property, building, and equipment against loss or damage from theft, fire, vandalism, or other causes.

Essential Functions of the Position
  • Operates a vehicle in a safe manner, observing slow speed limits in parking lots or on rough, unimproved surfaces.
  • Reports any suspicious activity or situations threatening property to the appropriate emergency responders.
  • Maintain a log of all activities and observations.
  • Demonstrate predictable, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Observing for signs of crime.
  • Observe and report findings.
  • Establish visual presence to prevent break-ins, vandalism, and trespassing.
  • Monitor access points and the perimeter.

Requirements
  • Must have a valid Class C driver’s license.
  • Driver record cannot contain any reckless driving offences, DUIs, leaving the scene of an accident, etc.
  • Driver record cannot contain more than 1.5 active points in the last 36 months.
  • Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions and complete assigned tasks on schedule.
Required excellent communication
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and effectively communicating in English is essential.
  • The ability to work under supervision, taking instructions and feedback, and receiving coaching or counseling is necessary.

  • Climbing: Occasionally climbs stairs when patrolling facilities.

  • Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lifts or carries items up to 10 lbs. (e.g., radio, flashlight).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Occasionally, up to 15 lbs. of force is used (e.g., opening doors, steering).
  • Hand Use: Frequent handling and operation of equipment, including radios, keys, and vehicles.
  • Fingering: Occasional typing, logging, phone use.
  • Hearing/Seeing: Continuous use of hearing and vision to monitor surroundings, alarms, and communications. Requires full visual and auditory acuity.
  • Mental Focus: Requires continuous heightened awareness for safety and security monitoring.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
  • Work Setting: Indoors and outdoors on company property.
  • Noise Level: 30–90 decibels, varying from quiet offices to alarms.
  • Environmental Exposure: Occasional exposure to weather; rare exposure to fumes, odors, dust, or vibration.
