Job summary

Central Steel & Wire, part of the Ryerson family, invites you to join as Shift Area Leader on the 3rd shift at University Park. You will oversee the warehouse team, assist the shift supervisor, and help meet production goals in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 11:00 pm–7:30 am, requires 3–5 years of experience, experience operating material handling equipment, and a willingness to learn SAP.

Qualifications

• Pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
• 3-5 years of experience required.
• Experience operating equipment and identifying materials in the service center.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to learn SAP and become proficient.
• Physical ability to pass vision, hearing, and mobility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the warehouse team and assist the 3rd shift Supervisor with goals.
• Lead pre-shift safety and production huddles with the team.
• Train staff to ensure task proficiency and provide coaching.
• Address machinery breakdowns and coordinate repairs or staffing.
• Manage short-term absences and handle additional duties as needed.
