Job summary

Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join the Acute Care Surgery team, supporting trauma and general surgery services. The role includes ED trauma response, ICU rounding, outpatient clinics, and operating room first assist duties. Candidates must have NCCPA/ANCC certification, Florida licensure, and board certification in PA or AG-ACNP/ACNP.

ACLS/BLS are required; ATLS is preferred. Minimal two years of critical care APP experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Current NCCPA or ANCC certification required.
• Active Florida license by time of hire.
• Board Certified Physician Assistant or Board Certified Adult-Gero Acute Care NP/ACNP with relevant experience.
• Board Certified Adult/Family NP with relevant activity.
• ACLS/BLS required; ATLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Trauma response in ED, rounding in Surgical Trauma ICU and hospital floors.
• Provide Surgical First Assist in OR for elective, acute and traumatic cases.
• See patients in general surgery and trauma acute care outpatient clinic.
• Perform procedures such as chest tubes placement/removal, arterial lines, and central venous catheters.
