Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Springfield, MA is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to lead driver supervision and training, ensure safe and timely deliveries, and monitor DOT compliance.

The role involves coordinating driver records, maintaining vehicle safety, and supporting day-to-day transportation operations with occasional route coverage and overnight shifts Sunday through Thursday.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising and training drivers in a transportation setting.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety requirements for drivers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise associates including staffing, training, coaching and performance management; assist in scheduling.
• Rides with drivers for training/evaluation and ensures timely deliveries and pickups.
• Assist in day-to-day administration of transportation operations and payroll reviews.
• Monitor vehicle safety, seat belts, lifting practices and safety meetings.
• Maintain driver records: licenses, tickets, accidents, DVIRs, logs and paperwork.
• Oversee truck/tractor/trailer maintenance and post-trip inspections.
• Collaborate to minimize costs and optimize route efficiency; travel as needed.
• Attend quarterly safety/operations meetings; report to Springfield Mass OpCo.
• Occasionally cover routes; night shift starts 7:00pm; Sunday-Thursday.
