Day Translations is a global translation and interpreting company. We help individuals, organizations, and businesses communicate worldwide through accurate translations, localization, interpreting, and tailored language solutions.

We are seeking a full-time Project Manager with strong sales experience and knowledge of localization, translation, and interpreting to join our night team.

This position combines project management, client service, and sales. You will manage language projects from inquiry through delivery, convert inquiries into paying clients, close deals with large interpreting clients, and help businesses sign up for phone interpreting services through Day Interpreting.

The ideal candidate can confidently lead client conversations, explain our services, negotiate effectively, and close business while keeping projects organized and on schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Manage localization, translation, and interpreting projects from initial inquiry and quoting through scheduling, delivery, and completion.
  • Lead sales conversations with prospective clients, understand their needs, recommend appropriate services, and close deals.
  • Pursue and close large interpreting opportunities, including ongoing service agreements with businesses and organizations.
  • Guide clients through signing up for Day Interpreting’s phone interpreting services, including explaining the platform, pricing, account setup, and next steps.
  • Conduct client calls, presentations, and platform demonstrations to support sales and onboarding.
  • Follow up proactively on inquiries, quotes, proposals, and pending agreements to move opportunities toward a decision.
  • Build relationships with decision-makers and identify opportunities for repeat business, expanded services, and long-term partnerships.
  • Prepare accurate quotes, proposals, project budgets, and achievable timelines.
  • Coordinate localization projects involving websites, software, applications, and digital content, including file preparation, linguist assignments, review, and delivery.
  • Coordinate translation projects, including translator and editor assignments, proofreading, formatting, and final quality checks.
  • Arrange on-site, telephone, and video interpreting assignments, confirming language pairs, subject matter, dates, time zones, locations, and technical requirements.
  • Confirm interpreter availability and readiness, manage scheduling changes, and arrange replacements when needed.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries by phone, email, and chat.
  • Source qualified language professionals through approved freelancer databases and negotiate rates and deadlines.
  • Track project budgets and costs to maintain quality and profitability.
  • Maintain accurate project records in Plunet and sales activity in the company’s designated systems.
  • Monitor progress, resolve client and freelancer questions, and escrow urgent concerns when necessary.
  • Communicate actively with colleagues and provide clear handover notes between shifts.
  • Follow company policies, confidentiality requirements, and quality procedures.
Requirements
  • Strong sales experience, including a demonstrated ability to negotiate and close deals with large business clients.
  • Experience selling interpreting services or other business-to-business services, with the ability to manage longer sales conversations and multiple decision-makers.
  • Confidence conducting sales calls, presenting solutions, handling objections, following up, and asking for the sale.
  • Ability to explain phone interpreting services clearly and guide clients through Day Interpreting sign-up and onboarding.
  • Solid knowledge of localization and translation workflows, including project scoping, file requirements, linguist coordination, quality assurance, and delivery.
  • Understanding of interpreting services and logistics, including on-site, telephone, and video interpreting.
  • Experience in project management and customer service, preferably within the language services industry.
  • Familiarity with CAT tools such as Smartcat, memoQ, or Trados Studio.
  • Experience with Plunet or similar project management systems is preferred.
  • Advanced written and spoken English at a native or C1 level, plus fluency in at least one additional language.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, sales opportunities, and deadlines.
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and remain proactive and responsive throughout the night shift.
  • Reliable internet access and a quiet workspace suitable for client calls and demonstrations.
  • Consistent availability for full-time work during the assigned U.S. nighttime schedule.
