Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician to support clinical teams by monitoring patients' cardiac rhythms and communicating changes promptly. No prior experience is required, as telemetry education and competency training are provided.

This full-time, onsite role in Oakbrook Terrace, IL offers three 12-hour shifts per week, a rotating weekend schedule, and a rotating holiday plan. Training is provided to establish competency quickly and advance healthcare careers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to complete telemetry education and competency requirements within 6–12 weeks of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry systems for assigned patients.
• Promptly notify nursing staff of changes in heart rhythm.
• Record and document heart rhythms hourly and when changes occur.
• Run telemetry strips per policies and procedures.
• Alert nursing staff when telemetry signals are interrupted or equipment needs attention.
• Maintain daily inventory of telemetry transmitters and lead wires.
