Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician in Oakbrook Terrace, IL to support clinical teams by monitoring patients' cardiac rhythms and communicating changes to nurses. No prior healthcare experience is required, as telemetry education and competency training are provided.

The role offers three 12-hour shifts per week on a rotating schedule (days: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with weekend rotations and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Detail-oriented and able to stay focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to complete telemetry education and competency requirements within 6–12 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry systems for assigned patients.
• Promptly notify nursing staff of changes in heart rhythm.
• Record and document heart rhythms hourly and as changes occur.
• Run telemetry strips according to established policies and procedures.
• Alert staff when telemetry signals are interrupted or equipment requires attention.
• Maintain daily inventory of telemetry transmitters and lead wires.
• Handle confidential patient information with professionalism and discretion.
• Collaborate with registered nurses and the healthcare team to support patient care.
