Job summary

White Oak Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, is seeking an experienced Monitor Technician for its Central Telemetry Unit. The role includes documenting rhythms, obtaining strips, and monitoring telemetry consoles during three 12-hour night shifts per week.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, completion of a Monitor Technician program within 6 months of hire, and BLS certification. Prior dysrhythmia interpretation is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-year experience with emergency situations and maintaining continuous strips of cardiac rhythms.
• Completion of Monitor Technician Program within 6 months of hire.
• Active BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Document rhythm on EKG flow sheet and report changes to the nurse.
• Obtain strips on irregularities and monitor assigned telemetry console.
• Maintain safe operation of Monitoring Console and ensure alarms are active.
• Provide patient and relief reports and participate in quality improvement teams.
