Job summary

Qualifications

• US citizenship or eligible to work in the US
• MD or DO degree from a school approved by VA
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in a US state
• Residency in a core specialty program leading to board eligibility
• ACGME/AOA residency requirements or equivalent post-training experience

Responsibilities

• Manage surgical inpatients including ward, transitional care units, and ICUs with proper documentation
• Evaluate surgical consults in hospital or emergency department and discuss with Chief resident or Attending
• Provide surgical coverage on-call and perform procedures such as wound care and debridement
• Assist in the operating room and support handoffs to PRP coverage under supervision
