Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a polysomnographic technologist to prepare patients, perform overnight polysomnograms, and collect vital signs for physician interpretation. The role requires careful data collection and the ability to adjust patient settings to obtain quality sleep data.

Successful candidates will have a sleep technology program, be eligible to become registered within a year, and may be asked to work across multiple sites with overnight shifts. Clinical excellence is essential.

Qualifikationen

• HS diploma and 2 years of patient care experience.
• Completion of a sleep technology program; eligible for credentials.
• Becoming registered within one year of hours fulfilled.

Aufgaben

• Verify patient identification, obtain consent for the study.
• Prepare patient and caregiver for PSG setup.
• Set up and calibrate monitoring equipment (computer interfaces).
• Place and attach EEG, EKG, EMG, and EOG monitoring electrodes.
• Attach recording transducers for airflow, respiratory effort, oximetry, and capnography.
• Monitor PSG data and note events; adjust environment for sleep/wake data.
• Correct equipment malfunctions and ensure data quality.
• Initiate and titrate nasal CPAP therapy per physician orders.
