Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Sleep Laboratory at St Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO seeks a Polysomnographic Technologist for overnight, per diem shifts. You will attach sensors, monitor sleep studies, and score sleep stages to aid diagnosis. Experience with EEG/EOG/ECG/EMG and CPAP/BiPAP is valued.

Requires high school diploma and polysomnography certification; BRPT eligibility is a plus. Per diem benefits include competitive compensation and hospital-based benefits.

Qualifications

• HD or equivalent required.
• Certified Polysomnographic Technologist or Respiratory Therapist required.
• Current BCLS certification upon hire.
• Graduates of polysomnography or respiratory therapy programs preferred.
• Eligible for BRPT registry preferred.
• At least 1 year in a sleep lab preferred.
• Experience scoring sleep studies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient sleep history and relevant medical info.
• Perform overnight sleep studies with sensor setup and monitoring.
• Explain procedures and prepare patients for sleep.
• Use equipment to collect data on sleep and monitor for abnormalities.
• Score sleep stages (REM/NREM) using software.
• Identify sleep disorders and coordinate with sleep specialist.
• May assist with CPAP/BiPAP adjustments during studies.
