Job summary

Truman Medical Centers, Sleep Lab Sheraton Hotel Sleep Lab in Kansas City, MO, seeks a Non-Registered Sleep Technician to join our Sleep Center team for overnight shifts (7:00PM–7:00AM). You will gain hands-on training under supervision, performing polysomnograms and related tests while pursuing polysomnography registry within 6 months.

The role emphasizes patient care, teamwork with Sleep Technologists and physicians, and ongoing process improvement in a busy hospital sleep center environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer knowledge.
• Current BCLS certification, maintained throughout employment.
• Completion of one of the following educational pathways: a STAR designated Self Study program, a polysomnography education program accredited by CAAHEP or CoARC, or a respiratory therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, customer friendly environment for Sleep Center patients.
• Perform overnight polysomnograms and other Sleep Center tests.
• Work closely with Registered Sleep Technologists and physicians to develop clinical skills.
• Continuously look for opportunities to improve testing processes and patient experiences.
• Establish and follow safety precautions to protect patients, visitors, and staff.
• Actively pursue registration in polysomnography with the goal of registry within 6 months.
