The role requires careful record-keeping, crisis intervention, and collaboration with families and agency staff. Responsibilities include reviewing law enforcement paperwork, coordinating with JJIS, and ensuring youth medical and mental health clearances before admission to screening areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience working with youth.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver's license and Auto Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Reviews law enforcement paperwork and criminal history records.
• Acts as a resource to families, outside agencies and staff; answers telephones.
• Maintains accurate records, including youth files and screening packets in JJIS.
• Communicates with youth's parents/guardians and agency staff to ensure accurate processing.
• Attends court hearings to present detention risk assessment findings.
• Provides crisis intervention to de-escalate conflicts as needed.
• Provides sight and sound supervision of youth at risk for self-harm.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
